1911 CUSTOM PISTOL SERVICES
1911 custom pistols are a specialty in which I take great pride. Custom 1911 work can be
performed on your pistol or oversize frame. I use only the highest quality
parts available and precisely fit each part to your handgun. I can perform
services as listed below or build a complete fully customized 1911 pistol to
your specifications; tailored the way you want - that is what custom is
all about. Full custom 1911's are quoted in complete detail down to every
pin so you will
know exactly what you are getting. I put a tremendous
amount of effort in handcrafting every 1911 to give you a truly personalized
handgun; each pistol is truly handcrafted one at a
time. Reliability, match accuracy, ergonomics and attention to the smallest

1911 Pistol Action Work
Most common firearm related complaint: " Can you do
something with this trigger?"
Trigger work by itself does not increase the accuracy of a firearm. However, it does make YOU more accurate. Being able to get the shot off at
that precise moment when sight alignment is achieved is where a quality
trigger job comes into play. |

Reliability & Function
Even the factory gun that you paid your hard earned cash for could use
some extra tweaking to function better and more reliably. Some work great
right out of the box and some dont. |

Accuracy
A precision fit match grade barrel and match grade bushing
along with a mated slide to frame fit is the foundation for an accurate
1911. This allows for consistent, repeatable lockup and firing.
I use methods of fitting I learned from Master Pistolsmiths' Jack
Weigand and Jim Stroh using precision measuring instruments in conjunction
with machine work and final hand fitting. |

Frame Modifications
Beveling the magazine well is an aid in magazine reloading. Adding
an extended magazine well makes reloading much faster which can be
especially useful for competition. |

Safeties
Beavertail grip safeties are precision fitted and blended into the frame
giving a very comfortable grip that fits well in the hand. High grip safeties
offer a higher handhold position that bring the line of the barrel closer in
line with the wrist which helps to better control recoil. (Re-contouring of the front strap (listed elsewhere)
for high handhold will especially complement a high grip safety.)
Springfield Armory frames require a Smith & Alexander grip safety for best
fit due to the Springfield tang configuration. |

Slide Modifications
Lowering the ejection port is a very worthwhile modification that aids in
reliable case ejection. The other slide work listed below is primarily
cosmetic, but adds a touch of class for that custom look. |

The Art of Metal Work
If you have never held a handgun that has been custom checkered, you
dont know what you have been missing. The advantage you gain in a
consistent grip and controllability is significant. Because I am a
craftsman at heart, my checkering is done the old fashion way completely
